updating video driver procedures
Hello again all. Could someone explain to me the proper way to
"update" a video driver? I tried it and ended up having to restore my computer. Thank God for the "restore" function!! Please advise, thanks, God Bless, Robert |

What OS are you using? In Windows 98 you right click My Computer/Properties/click Device Manager tab/click the "+" next to the Display adapter/highlight the adapter/click Properties/Driver tab/Update Driver, when it asks where to find the driver just point it to where you have the new driver stored. Thanks for reply. I have windows 98 se. I tried it that way. However, I did not remove the old driver before I tried to install new. The screen got all screwed up!!
Do I remove the old driver first? How? Then what? Thanks, please advise, God Bless, Robert |

Yes remove the old one first, reboot and install the new one. You may have to boot into safe mode to remove the old one.
BTW The path to device manager is pretty much the same with all MS OS's.

Thanks for the info on the Device Manager Lil Jimmie, I couldn't remember if it was the same for Win 95. Haven't messed with it much.
