I have lost the driver but i complained about the same problem to Asus tech support in an email and they had send me a different 4 in 1 driver that corrected it.

However I have lost the benchmark program that gave me the info on the AGP slot and which driver it was.

Tell me which benchmark u used to get the agp info, I would like to test mine again and make sure i am on agp 4x.

well, guest what?u are riding the same "board" with me
me myself have also encounter this problem until I updated my windows from Win98 to WinME.....Also, I have downloaded several updates for this board but none works.\
Anyway, try download the updates from VIA sites to see whether it works or not ....
The fact is ........4x will not make any difference and I personally don't like it because it causes system unstable.........\
Good luck

I didn't use any benchmark to check my Agp info. I just downloaded the latest Detonator driver V40.71 for my nvidia video card(after update my driver to V40.71). I go to display properties and go to setting button, then i go to (advance)on the screen. On there,it show my Agp is only 2X.

In soon intense programs It will make a difference. However you are right about giving up some system stabilty to gain 4X in win 98. Some of the Via drivers have it disabled. I remember the drivers I got where a beta, unsupported but they did work well for me. And in the Game Everquest it did make a big difference.
