did you try copying the file off the CD and replacing the one in your Warcraft folder?
...Just an idea. Oh, and if the error isn't two miles long, maybe you should post it here.

Can you play the movie manually?
I think Blizzard still uses Smacker, Bink, or whatever the codec has evolved to now, but you still should be able to find the videos. They might be wrapped up in a structure, but they are there. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Does your statement mean you can play the other movies with Microsoft Media but not the elves', or that you can play the other movies inside Warcraft III, but not the elves'? Because if MS Media will play the others, but not the elves', then obviously your CD has problems.
Anyway, as I said, Blizzard probably still use the Smacker/Bink codecs. Smacker has been around for a while (more than 7 years) and has been used in many, many games. I have only had one experience working with it, but I liked it. Bink is an evolution of it, or that is my educated guess. A simple search for "Bink" would probably get you the site. Also, Blizzard usually puts their data into containers. Starcraft and Diablo II used MPQ files, so I would assume they still do. Thus, you will probably need something to view the container and then extract the movies (probably .bik). Let me know how it goes. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Hmm - I may be reading too much into this - but after reading your other thread, I have to ask if is this an original CD or a CD-R? If it's a CD-R, all bets are off and we can't really assist you any further on this.
