In the graphic option window do you have "allow trails" selected? If it is, try disabling it and see what happens.

Much as I like ATI, the lower end Radeons are not very good gamers. You pretty much have to get up to a 7500 or (realistically) 8500 to get decent game performance - I use ATI for general builds but gamers get Nvidia cards, period.

Case in point - if you place any credibility in benchmarks - I have a customer with a similar system, AMD 1.2/266 with 512 SDRAM, it had a Radeon LE which is very similar to your 7000, it benched 3D Mark 2001 around 2500. We swapped a GF4 Ti4200 plain jane card (64mb) into it and benched 6700. The card was well worth the $130 and the customer says the difference in Counterstrike is like night and day.

I have that card in my system : / On some games, like a couple of years old, it worked fine. I had to tweak and tweak and tweak the settings, updated my bios, kept searching for nonsupported drivers... : ) There are some new drivers as of Sept for that card. I have it running EQ/Luclin and Warcraft3 pretty smooth so it can be done. When I get home I'll look at my settings and show you what I've got.
