Official UT2003 Patch is out!

http://www.beyondunreal.com/dl.php/o...136release.exe

This is not another beta, it has finally been released. Its backward compatible with nonpatched servers and clients too.
I should note that if any of those editor fixes on the UnrealTech. page are applied after this patch is installed, the patch will be broken. This patch has all the updated fixes so it's all you need to patch the game and the editor.

Here is a link to the main BeyondUnreal page with a list of all the fixes and changes:

Hooray!

Thumbs up

I think this is what the retail would have been like, had they not rushed the game out for the CPL (they only took bug reports for 6 days after the release of the demo, then went gold, lol)

The biggest fix, imo, is the server browsing. I can now re-ping, and refresh the server list with no problems at all. Connecting is more reliable too. I bet we see a lot more servers and players popping up now...

So, in all I would say this patch is definitely "essential download material" for those who play the game.

That is the biggest problem nowadays, especially with massively online multiplayer games. With the internet being as prevalent and fast as it is, the so-called death march to production is not what it used to be. I hate to say it, but companies can now produce absolute **** and just patch it up. How many games have you bought which had a patch on the internet as soon as you open the package? And not just trivial errors, I mean big mistakes. One is too much in my book.

That said, I am off to get the patch.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes
