Help! Mechwarrior 4 doesn't work!
I bought Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance a while ago and installed it into my old computer. The game works fine on it, but when I installed it on my new custom built pc, it doesn't work. It starts to load and shows the staring picture and hour glass, but then freezes the comp. I have tried reinstalling it, but it does the same thing. I even got a patch for it, but it still doesn't work. I know it can't be my system, because it is newer and better than my older comp. Is it because Mechwarrior 4 isn't compatible with Windows XP? I have XP on my new comp and 98 on my old one. Can someone help? Thanks.

Have you checked the mfger's web site for info about XP compatibility?
What are your system specs? Is this the only game that crashes the computer?

I don't know about the XP compatibility. I have a 1.5 Ghz 1800+ AMD XP processor, 40 gig hard drive, 256 DDR Ram, Geforce 4 Ti4200 card.
This is the only game so far that does this. Does anyone else have Mechwarrior and have it working with windows XP? Thanks for the help. |

hmmm....interesting. FYI- The demo for that game does that to my PC too. I'm on XP pro. Just a window with black that I shut down via task Manager.
