Dual Monitor, how to get different backgrounds

I just set up two monitors on my radeon 7500, both are identical crt's, one is plugged into the dvi port with an adapter.

The setup works, except I cannot seem to put a different desktop background for each monitor. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Grab the two backgrounds you want, and join them together, side by side, in a graphics program. Save it, and load it as the background, one should show up on one monitor, the other...you get the idea?

I gotcha, and I've worked a bit on it, I think I'll have to resize the images to the screen resolution and tile them in order for it to work properly.

Isn't there a way to merely set the desktops with different backgrounds

Matt, as far as I know, in order to have two different backgrounds like that you'll need 2 seperate cards. Not sure if that is true or not, but we just had this conversation at work today.

Ah well, I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with the same background on both screens, as I don't really feel like doing all that graphic editing to make it seem like they have different backgrounds.

Maybe I'll consider getting an extra pci card if that'll do the trick for one of the monitors... but that would also mean splurging on another monitor.

I've had a 3 monitor/3 card setup for 4 years and do not know of any way to set individual wallpaper (never considered it actually). Reboots suggestion may work, but personally I like seeing miss December in triplicate
