Here's some pics:
http://www.mobygames.com/game/shots/gameId,1068/ http://www.idsoftware.com/games/doom/doom-final/ As you can see the quality is very primitive by today's standards. Sort of like comparing an old mono audio system with a modern THX surround system. Last edited by Prew; 11-15-2002 at 06:28 PM. |

Hey! Don't be too quick to discard Doom!
The graphics can be outdated but the thrill is still there; and it's the thrill what counts! Anyway, you can install jDoom to enjoy Doom with dinamic lighting and full 3D models. |

Nuclear Krusader is right on! Doom is not about graphics, but about thrill and scaryness. It's still one of my favorites (all the various versions) and I have hundreds of maps / levels I cycle thru. Still gives me goose bumps and makes me jump !!

Oh! But of course! You get that one in the first three levels of each episode. Sometimes it's in a secret area. It's really good against those pink monsters and their invisible cousins.
You get the chainsaw in the start point of the first level in Doom 2. |

There's: (at least) Doom Doom II Ultimate Doom Doom for Win 95 Final Doom And "expansion" packs like: D!Zone D!Zone II And Ports such as: JDoom (NewDoom?) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've seen things like "Collection Packs / Editions" that have all "stock" releases of Doom in the "bargin bins" at stores for about $15 - 20. That may be the way to go. HTH TwoRails |
