New ATI problems
I'm trying to figure out why Battlefield 1942 runs so choppy on my machine. I have a 128 MB ATI Radeon 8500, 1.4 GHZ AMD T-Bird, 256 MB DDRAM;, and I can score around 7500 on 3D Mark.
It takes about 2 1/2 minutes to load a single player scenario, and my hard drive is 7200 RPM, ATA 133. Is this normal? I should be playing smooth as silk, but it's like my computer is under powered. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

I should add that I don't have much running in the background, I'm running XP pro, and I'm clean for viri/spyware. And I'm using the latest drivers.

You said the latest drivers, the Catalyst 2.4 drivers just came out a day or two ago.... did you get them?

It's not your card...
The game has major stability problems and there are no patches as yet.
