Recently I got myself a copy of the RallySport Challenge. After install I hav a test on the game.
The graphic was awesome!!But my GF2MX had let me down...It could only do 10-25fps and I had a bad experience of that game. So I'm looking for an upgrade. According to the game manual, the game support pixel shader. Then I realised the game's graphic was not at top notch!! What graphic card should I get?I got a quite old P3 733 processor that I think the RADEON 8500 could do it.... I want the game to look the best!! Last edited by Tiretool; 12-08-2002 at 11:46 AM. |

The 8500 should do well in your system.

Should I get Geforce4 ti4200 instead?I fear that the 8500 would not support future games

I'm using a G4 4200 and am quite happy with it thus far. Unreal Tournament 2k3 with all the eye candy turned on plays very nice and smooth at 1024 X 768 Res.

Of the two, 4200 or 8500, I would get the fastest clocking 4200 that had 128megs ram onboard. I have no clue regarding wich is fastest at this time. I have a evga (the yugo/renault of the vid card biz) 4200 that runs 300/500. There are some 4200s that are as fast as a 4400 and made on the same board as the 4400. The 4200 by definition has one or two layers less in the pcboard than the 4400/4600. This allows for less circuit noise and better oc results. Plus some of these 4400s use bga memory, wich is far more suitable for ocing. Some thoughts for u

MSI is a great manufacturer of mobos and video cards. Can't go wrong.
But do try and get the 128Mb version. |
