Angry Problem with Geforce4 ti 4200 card

I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with these graphic cards. This is the second card like this that I have had a problem with. Everytime I turn the computer I get a gray looking screen and then I am not able to get into the bios. The computer than boots up fine but when I shut it down I get the gray screen again. I know it is the graphics card because I put another one in there and it worked fine. I got it from newegg and don't if can be replaced with a new one or not.

Yes, also a motherboard brand and model would be helpful.

This is what I have on the new build:
Asus P4s533 MB
VGA PNY/GF4 TI 64M W/TV/DVI AGP
CREATIVE PCI V.92 MODEM
512 MB DDRAM
CPU P4/2AG 512K 400MHZ 478PIN RTL
40GB/SEAGATE ST340016A
MS/WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
CDRW40X12X46/LITE ON

The other video card is an ATI Rage from another computer. When I put the rage card in I did not install anything on the computer. I just used it to check to see if the computer would work with it and it did. I did uninstall anything for for the VGA PNY/GF4 card. The gray that I am seeing on the screen kind of looks like it was smeared on the screen. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Have you reset bios to defaults? If you have some setting wrong in the agp settings it may result in this. If you are not able to get around this, can you return the card, or at least try the card in another system?
