Pissed Max Payne problem!

My brother just got Max Payne, and I installed it on my system. The install went fine, my problem is that when I try to start a game, it loads halfway then crashes to the desktop. It did the same thing in Tutorial Mode, but I got around it by setting Particle Detail to 'Medium'. That does not work in 'Story Mode', or whatever it is. I've messed around with all the game/graphic settings, to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.......

You might want to go to sound options in control panel and click on Voice and Advanced then on Performance. Put the setting on basic in Hardware acceleration. This fixed the problem on my game.

The game quits on me when loading a new level/game. I downloaded the patch, I'll see if that fixes it. It says, "fixes the problem where the game quits when loading a new level".

The patch v1.05 fixed it, I suggest if anyone else is having this problem, grab the patch and see if it helps.

Yeah, I know. Probably the best action game I've ever played. Games like that make me very glad that my system is so good. I used to play games on a Compaq with onboard video, AMD K6-III 500MHz, 64MB PC-100 SDRAM, 8MB of that to video, and onboard sound. Makes me really appreciate my rig.

Piece of advice. I experienced the samething and it still didn't work. I was forced to find a patch that let me play the game off the hdd not the cd. That fixed my problem. PM if you want to know where to get it.
