Problems with directx...something new???

Anyone have a freaking clue as to what this means? "this pre released version of directx has expired" and that I need to upgrade something. Microsoft had nothing. I found a listing for 8.2 somewhere but I don't here enough about it to feel its reliable, and x-9 is post poned tilllll.........when ever. I'm tired of the error message, so what ever you can do to help is appreciated. Thanks

Somewhere down the line, you found a beta copy of DirectX and installed it. Beta versions of DirectX are usually time limited, and cease to work at a pre-determined time. You need to locate a copy of a program called DirectX Buster or another DirectX Removal tool. Remove DirectX and then install the most recent version found on Microsoft's web site. This should cure what ails your computer.
