I just purchased Quake 1 coz I wanted to try the OpenGL mods mike breck suggested awhile ago, but I can't make it run under Windows XP.
Any suggestions? There must be a way! But I was unable to find it.

XP does not like many of the older games from that time frame. Sometimes they will work but the sound is bad or sometimes the video will go nuts.
The best cure for this is to set up dual booting using XP and then Win98 or even ME for the games and older programs. XP makes this really simple to do. |

Done!
The Tenebrae mod did the trick! Also, downloaded Win Quake and GLQuake, both of them provide Windows NT compatibility.
