zone.com Age Of Empires II problem

Whenever I try to join a room, the room does not appear, nothing happens. I use Internet Explorer 6.0.2800 SP1 and have a Cable Modem Connection.

-I have two computers using the same connection through a Cable Router (Siemens).

-Also I tried playing Age of Empires II on the other computer and the lobby appeared fine but the game wouldn't load when everybody started the multiplayer game.

-Does anyone know the solution to my computers problem? I tried their help stuff and nothing worked, tried other browsers, and nothing worked.

Is your AOEII the same version that everyone else is using? (ie expansion pack or update patches)

Are you using AOEII: Age of Kings or AOEII: Conquerers Expansion Pack?

[edit] sorry, typo.

That may be the reason right there. Check on what the room you try to join uses; they may be using the expasion pack.

Make sure your security settings with your browser work with Zone.

What should my security settings be? I tried using my dad's computer and internet, which are the exact same comps and internet connection and the game worked fine, but wouldn't play the game, but it loaded the lobby room.

-I did try join free games like checkers, and that loaded the lobby fine. But AOEII won't load!

-None of the rooms I tried had the expansion pack because there is a separate page for the expansion pack players.

Well, that just about rules out the game compatibility area.

As for security settings, I'm guessing you'll need cookies and possibly activeX enabled. Try looking in the zone's FAQ's about security settings.

i tried following zone's security settings but I couldn't figure out which option they were talking about. I checked everywhere on settings that they told me to go to.

I tried other browsers, and it didnt work on them as well.
