Got this Gainward card for Xmas. My thoughts on installation:
Start computer in safe mode and change to Standard PCI VGA driver, then delete old video card in device manager, remove old drivers with add/remove programs, shut down and install new card, restart and install driver from CD. System is PIII 933MHz, Abit VH6-II, Win 98SE. Sound like a plan? As always, all advice is appreciated. beerman |

Instead of installing the driver from the CD, I would just download the newest one from nvidia.com.

You can do it either way, but you will eventually have to get the newest version. Your way sounds fine, let us know how it goes!

After a few minor uncertainties due to my inexperience, all is running great with the 41.09 drivers. Such sweet graphics! FS2002 looks 200% better than it did with my old card. Being one who wants to keep fixing 'til it's broken, any suggestions for tweaking?

You could try your hand at the black art of overclocking. Your card should have come with EXPERTool, it being a Gainward, and you can overclock it through that from the 'Performance' tab. One note: you must load EXPERTool at startup for the clock speed to not reset to default.

How far do you think it can be overclocked on stock cooling?

Well, my Ti4600 has made it to 321/686, and I can probably take the RAM higher.

It's not a Golden Sample card.
