Budget graphics
I'm looking at putting together a new system for my father for the study. What would you recommend as a budget graphics card that will mainly be used for 2D graphics, like web browsing and work. I can't really think of any times that 3D will be used much. I would need pretty good 2D though, because there will be a pretty good 19" monitor (Mitsubishi Diamondtron 93SB) to go with it and want a decent image.
Would the graphics on a nForce motherboard be good enough (the first nForce not nForce2)? |

NewEgg does not. Are you still looking for a suggestion? An ATI Radeon 7500 should do the trick. I've heard them recommended for 2D work, although I have never used one myself.

You can pick up Matrox cards that are a generation or two old very reasonable. A G400 or G450, both have superb 2d performance.
