New Video Card

I'm planning to purchase a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 video card in the near future. Any suggestion on brands? Who's making a good card? Who's' making bad ones.

thx

Yes Gainward is a very good manufactorer. I personally also like MSI and Leadtek.

Gainward is the best like the others mentioned, Asus is a good brand as well.

I recommend Gainward too. They make quality cards.

There a lot of good brands out there. Lately I have been seeing quite abit of stuff about the Gainward Ti4200 cards failing after a month or two. I don't if it's because the owners were overclocking or not. They ones I have seen seemed to be as nice as anyones.

The Abit version would probably be my first choice. Although I just recently bought one from VisionTek(couldn't pass up the price), seems to be a good card but the maker apparently is no more.

Another vote for Gainward, although I have been hearing the same as Tuf.

Gainward, ASUS, MSI, ABit. Those are the good brands.

Thanks for the quick responses. I originally planned to get a Gainward, but some of the above-mentioned problems started to scare me. I was reading something about a mysterious pink screen that may appear. Anyway thanks for the reassurance.

I just installed a Gainward TI4200(not overclocked) and it's running great. Bought from buyextremegear.com for $113. No pink screens. FPS at 25 and up in Flight Sim 2002.

I think all those problems with Gainward cards related to bad RAM. Gainward acknowladged this and offered to replace peoples' cards. Unless there are other problems now also.
