Question

I wanna order a new video card tonight.

I have 150$ spending money and I want a card with 32MB of ram.

Should I get a ATI Rage Fury Pro (32MB) AGP or a Voodoo 4500 AGP ?

Will the ATI perform better than the ATI card or should I get the Voodoo 4 4500 AGP and OC it ?

BTW. I am using an Guillemot Xentor 16 TNT2 at the moment and the only games that I play are UT, Quake 3, and Forsaken (sometimes).

Then you should save the dough...

You'll be happy you did..... although I wouldn't recommend the MX version. Either a DDR GeForce 256 or a full blown GeForce 2 GTS. Both will beat the MX version hands down.

Unhappy

No GeForce 2 for me guys. My MOBO only handles 2X AGP.

Doesn't matter.. maybe you haven't payed attention to any of the reviews and tests..... There is very little difference between a GeForce 2 running at AGP 1X and a GeForce 2 running at 4X. You won't have to worry about it. The difference is not noticable.

http://www.pricewatch.com has a Leadtek Geforce DDR 32 mg listed for $145

The ATI you mentioned is going for around $99--

For the games you play, the Geforce will run QIII faster than UT-- UT and D3D have had their problems-- on my system, UT runs at about 80FPS (medium quality), while QIII runs at 110 (High Quality)

Don't know if Voodoo cards will run UT faster-- be worth checking into though.

Prader Willi- Voodoo cards do run UT faster because UT runs on Glide.

On my system (main one) the TNT 2 Runs UT at about 40-45 FPS while on my other system with the V3 2K it runs at 60-65 FPS.
