We need more info; what are your system specs? Also, what do mean it 'won't do a warm boot'? When you try a warm boot, nothing happens?

Hi
Sorry I should have given more info.

Motherboard
ECS/PC chips M780mr Supports up to 1.13Ghz, S3 savage 4 3D graphics on board upto 32MB shared memory and on board audio.

Memory
256 MB SDRAM (unbranded ) 133Mhz

CPU
466 Mhz Celron

Monitor
Compaq 151 FS 15" screen.

Sound card
Creative sound Blaster 5.1

Cold boot
When I first switch on, or if I switch off completly, the graphics seem fine. I have not run anything as I have been trying to solve the problem.

Warm boot
When I load software and the machine shuts down automatically,
then restarts the graphics are scrambled. The same happens when hit the restart button

Once again sorry for the lack of info.
Thanks

Are you sure the onboard video is disabled? Also, ECS/PC Chips are not exactly the most reliable of brands, so that may have something to do with it. Do you have the latest drivers for everything?

HI
Thanks for the reply.

I downloaded drivers from ATI and Via. The only thing I have not changed is the BIOS. I have even tried a different M/board.

A thought has occured to me, wonder's will never cease. Could it be the lack of a retaining clip on the Agp slot?

Thanks for your interest
regards

Hmmm, that is strange. Try it in another system, the card may be defective. Also, muck around in your BIOS and change some AGP-related options, like AGP Aperture Size. See if that helps.

HI
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

I think I may have found the source of my problem, I hope. There two pins 'missing' from the connector between video card and monitor. But I am noy sure, as otherwise everything works fine.
