Lan Party

Me and several of my friends were gonna get together one day when we're out of school and have us a good ol' fashioned lan party. Anybody got any good suggestions for games or anything else. Most of us there(probably 6 or so people) will have their own computer, and we will also have an xbox and a ps2.

JK2 is fairly popular now. UT is too.

Yes! Also, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds might be a good choice for all the Star Wars fiends in attendance.

Yeah. That's a good idea. A combo of the SW universe and AOE.

It's a great game. I'm setting up a home network just so I can play it with my brothers; my dial-up does not encourage multi-player gaming, so I have to resort to a LAN.

Don't forget the snacks!
I would suggest BF1942, UT2003, CS, and Medal of Honor.

Q3 must blaze on your system Doobie, lol.. I love that sig.

I'm partial to UT2k3, and any sports game. SOFII is a good FPS game also if you and your buds have it.

I think the place looks better with the wiring in the wall. I did the same thing when I ran the phone lines to the two computers. It only took me about 2-3 hours. Course, that was because one goes up to the second story.

thats what i did too, bit of an extreme thing to do isnt it? Sounds like the sort of thing youd only do if you were either redecorating or rebuilding, or building to start off with.

good old wire clips for me along the skirting board, next time they get painted, the wires become invisible, the same effect as wall smashing but cheaper and less messy
i quite like C&C: RA2, its fun to ally with your friend/brother and beat the sh*t out of another army. i like it anyway.
CMR2 is also one of my frequent plays. but i like rallying a lot.

most of my mates have laptops instead of desktops, and i plumped for the 'huge power' of a desktop (at the time it was king) so they all come round to my house, good enough to bring their own cables and a hub aswell.

but i dont know about the name, LAN party, when we do it, we say just bring your laptop round and we'll play some network games, LAN party sounds WELL geeky.

It's using technology for collective entertainment.

Haha bring the snacks? You mean the munchies... I know what happens at LAN parties Hehe, that's funny... for those of you who get it. Bring drinks too .

Counter-Strike is a must, DoD is a great game too. MoHAA is good too, as well as Quake III, some sort of UT. I never really like strategy games at LAN parties, but that's up to you I guess.

i agree, strategy games aren't that great at LAN parties unless you have tons of time. they are fun, though.
stick to fps games.

How big of a game is starcraft any more????? I have had it for quite some time, getting kinda annoyed at blizzard for lack of update since BW.
Many in my leetle village have stopped playing it due to repetativeness, one thing i kinda gotta agree with.

If you had the bandwidth to play online with your whole lan, you might try tribes1 and 2.
