Catalyst drivers
Do they come with DirectX9 and what do they do?

I have DX8.1 or 8.2. I'm not really sure. I'm in the process of downloading DX9. |

You have an nvidia card so forget about Catalyst drivers. They are for ATI cards.
DirectX is not your video card driver. You can download the latest detonator drivers from www.nvidia.com.

Aha! It's nvidia, not nvida.
I still have one of my origional questions. Are the Detonator drivers the drivers that run my hardware? |

The detonator drivers are what you download at nvidia.com, and yes, they are for the gfx hardware.

Right click the desktop and click properties. Click the settings tab and click advanced. Click the GF4 Ti4200 tab. You will see a list of files with version numbers there. The last four numbers in the version number is the version you have. For me it is: 4072. So I have the 40.72 detonators.
