Europeans might be able to purchase a GeForce FX board by the end of January.

if that was true, why would nvidia release it in Great Britain first? It doesn't make sense to me...

Perhaps it is like the career of failing rock stars? They tour Europe.
The fx is not all that faster than the 9700, and it was 5fps slower in game4 of 3dmark. I am not impressed, especialy if it makes dx7 games look as bad as my gf4ti card does.

I'm going to wait and see the final product, then choose: 'ATI or nVidia?'. I need one of them in my new machine!

right, you don't need both in your system, but you could get both and just send whichever one you dont' want to me. bTw, what are you planning to do with your old system.

I guess I was going to sell it, but seeing the difficulty I am having selling another system of mine, I'm not sure.

New Machine? Your nuts! Bet you that northwood would OC to nearly whatever speed you were going to buy. I know some think it's risky, but I would get into it if your product cycles are that short. That's why I OC, I could buy new components if I had too, but rather choose not too. If not, why not just a new processor or vid card? Not that I think you need it, but I sure wouldn't send another 2k+ alienware's way. Tehn again you are alienware dude! My .02

Yeah, some spend all their money on cars, some spend it on PC's... I'm not either, but whatever floats their boat haha.

Yeah, available in Europe, but at the price of $740 US, whatever that converts to in Euros. That's what I read on another thread in this forum. Does nVidia actually expect anyone to pay that much for a video card? Even for $500, a big price drop, it's still incredibly expensive.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. I may just end up adding the FX to my system, and not building a new machine. I mean, it's not like I have $$ coming out the wazoo!
