Interesting, new to me. They will sure have to release a killer system if they want to compete with the big three. Sega coulden't handle just two of them. What gets me interested is the cross platform capabilities, but since there is no specs to be found (for me anyways) I will remain very sceptical untill it becomes a reality.

I hope they will have enough money to boost "Phantom" above X-Box andd PS2 in the markets.

This looks like it has as much merit as that cloning thing. It is impossible to develop a console that quickly. I mean the company is less than 6months old! And why no specs... heck, why no leaks! Thousands of games? maybe all text based. You can't even find anything (praise OR hoax) if you do a google search on them- well unless you count the game "Phantom Crash"!

I will gladly eat my words once I see proof. Just kinda ticked off at these weak teasers.

Will it really matter if it's that much faster though if it's going to play other console's games since those games are designed to run at their respective console's speeds?

I'm skeptical that the console will even see the light of day, there have been some big companies that said they were going in the game console business and never did. Commodore is the only one that come to the top of my head at the moment, but I know there were others.

Or they come out and bomb... I recall that one system - can't remember the name, but it was like a pair of binoculars you looked into and it was red...

Personally I have never cared for "system performance", I mean who cares if you can actually see each inidividual blade of grass on the screen, I personally dont, I like long, complicated, interesting games, but im not beyond a good beat down fest like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. This system will definetly have to offer more than just great visuals...they have to go against some of Nintendo and Sony's great titles, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Turok, 007, all kinds of great games...but still... I love a good competition system...

Yeah. Whatever. This soon after PS2, X-Box and Gamecube? Just look at the dreamcast system. It didn't last too long. If it does come out, It'll probably be like that.

I think It depends on what kind of games it comes out with. If they develop some really good titles It will prob do well. I think the whole idea of it being compatable with broadband really cool. It says you'll be able to rent and purchase games over the net. Also It will come with some preloaded games. The thing that hurt Dreamcast and GameCube is they didn't have good games. Game Cube has too many childrens games and not many children have $150 for a game system. This new system sounds like It'll be pretty sweet. I guess we'll just have to wait until the end of the year to find out.

I believe those thousands of games are from a bunch of pc games being put into the system...

and little kids may not have 150 bucks but their stupid parents do thinking their 3 year old kid actually knows how to play the game and buys them a ton of games just to get rid of them and not have to deal with them.

if you look at whois you can see its located in florida (i'm sure the site says that somewhere i just didn't look) and I also saw that the same guy registered the .com, org, biz, us, net, cc etc etc for the site. Seems a little too many to me. I can see people accidentally putting in net or org instead of com but i don't see the reason in doing allt he small ones like cc, us etc.

its either a hoax or gonna fail so i don't really care about it.

My friend just IMed me about it, and gave me the link: www.infiniumlabs.com

Whether it's a hoax or not, I think I'm sticking with the PC for gaming.
