upping pants 3DMark scores

My system below, (minus the rubbish GF3 Ti200, my old PCI PNY GF2 MX400 64MB outperformed it everywhere so it has prode of place back in my PC for the mean time ) has got constant scores of 3000, i think thats a bit pitiful for my machine,

Is it all the cards fault?

Im planning on gettng a PNY GF4Ti4200 64MB DDR, will this boost my scores up to the level i should be getting? Can anyone tell me what ballpark score i would be getting with this card?

Cheers!

Which card is getting the 3000? If it's the gf3, that's way under what it should be getting. If it's the gf2mx, that's about the score you should be getting. With a gf3, you should be getting about 8000 with that machine, give or take 1000 or so. Hopefully a Gf4 will fix the problem. Have you tried the Gf3 in another computer though? It may not be the card. What drivers are you using for it? Do you have anything running in the background while you run 3dmark?

With the gf4, I would guesstimate a score of around 10,000 give or take depending on how much you tweak things for speed.

i only have one AGP motherboard, so i can only test the card in one machine, but it was crap, the 3D mark wouldnt even complete, and it ran games just aaaaawful. i was using 41.09 detonator or whatever is the latest Nvidia drivers. Nothing was running in the background any time and i restarted after every completeion/failure to complete.

Sounds like the card is bad. See if you can get it replaced, or return it and get the gf4.

Upgraded from a GeForce2 MX400 64 MB to the PNY video card (see sig). I used to get around 2500 on 3DMark with the old card and increased to around 8500 right off the bat after upgrading. Overclocking has pushed me near 10,000.
