UT2003 Video Performance.

View my specs below.

Done reading?

Okay good...

I just got my copy of UT2003 2 days ago (and I love it)
But even with my system below I found the video very very very choppy. So I got my hands on a crack so I can run the game off my HDD instead of the cd (that I did buy) and it works a lot better. Now I know running off the HDD is better as far as performance goes but still this system is top notch...shouldn't I be getting better performance than I did running off the cd-rom?

What are you guys and gals experiencing?

I'm pretty sure that all the nocd crack does is make it so it doesn't check to see if the cd is there. With or without it, it still runs it all off the hdd. That's a little strange that getting the crack would make it run smoother.

I have a XP 2100+ and a Gf4 Ti4600, and I don't have the gfx settings ALL the way up. One or two of them are down a notch. It runs almost all the levels flawlessly. And I don't have the nocd crack.

One thing though...even if it ran smoothly without the noncd crack having that is really convenient. This way I keep my other favorite game in the cd-rom and that way I don't need to switch between the two cd's.

Hey Iman, have you contacted Alienware. I've read that they are very supportive of the products. It could be a minor config or something. Seeing how that game is the one every mag is using to test systems I'm sure it'll run on yours without hitches.
