Game comparison.....
I'm wondering how a racing sim such as the Papyrus games Nascar 2002 Season, and the soon to be released Nascar 2003 Season compares to UT2, NOLF2, DOOM, QUAKE ARENA and other FPSes, when it comes to taxing your system or system requirments. I read all the time on the Sierra forums how advanced your system must be to run the sims. I'm running N2k2 myself and I have everything turned on and get about 80 FPS. With about twenty cars on the track. I read guys complaining about the N2k3 demo only getting 10-12 FPS with pretty doggon good systems.

Hmmm, that is indeed a good question. I would think that the racing sims would be slightly more taxing, as there is action on the screen at all times. I guess it depends on the efficiency
of the engine. |

They'd never release the full version of the game if good systems were only getting 10 FPS.

Fuze I've been racing the Papyrus sims since the first one came out. When they released N4 the listed requirements on the box were a total joke. No way would the game run in those machines. Racers waited for some help that never came till N2k2 season was released. It was basicly a patch for N4 but it was a great improvement over the N4 sim. Now racers are waiting impatiently for N2k3 which is said to be Papyrus's last racing sim. The forum is visited by a person who claims to be Winston Cup Team engineer and has helped in the development of the game till the setup of the cars is almost the same as the real cars. Guys that have downloaded the demo have said that it is a system "taxer" but not THAT much more than the N2k2 sim. And yes, some of the testers have got very low frame rates with all the eye candy on.
