I am currently looking to by an AGP video card for gaming purposes....

I am currently playing alot of Ever Quest so the card must work well with that game.

I want to spend $150 or less, I have been looking at some of the Gforce 1 cards and the ATI 32 meg Radeon. However video is not my strong point, so I am asking this in the Gaming Forum in hopes that you guys know more then I do.

I know both of those cards can be had in that price range...

Elsa NVIDA GEFORCE 32MB AGP OEM *Limit One* $ 115 + 10.34 sh

ATI RADEON SDR AGP 32MB SDRAM NOVIVO (BULK) - * LIMIT ONE $ 134 UPS GROUND sh 11.95

ATI is confusing me, some sites list it as SDR others list as DDR, can you clue me in. I know what SDR and DDR are. I just didn't think this card was made in both styles.

The DDR as expected are more expensive...

Should I be considering the Geforce 2 mx, if so which ones should i be looking at?

**** If possible*****
If I didn't have to spend to much more I would like some type of video in and outs?
****

Also I want to add that, I had been using a 16 meg PCI banshee video card by creative and it did everything I needed....But I gave that card to my GF and I am currently using an 8 meg PCI graphics blaster Exxtreme by Creative.

It does the job, but not as pretty as the 16 meg banshee.

So I believe a 32 meg card will do me just fine. Not super crazy about the super high Frame rates...

How many times have you asked for video card advice?

My answer is still the same. GeForce DDR or GeForce 2 GTS. For the money you can get a GeForce SDR $103 on Pricewatch but it isn't a top performer unless you have a 700 MHz processor or above.

Well I have an 800 mhz processor, T-Bird.

I know I have ask in the past, but my processor was top concern then. Now My video is my main need, I have been hoping that something new may be out by now.

I can't afford one of the Gforce 2 cards,

I have been reading the current info on a few cards and I have it narrowed down to the followoing.

1.
ATI RADEON 32MB DDR version $157.00 + $10.00= $167.00
Gforce 1 32 meg probably SDR instead of DDR because of

2.
Elsa NVIDA GEFORCE 32MB AGP OEM $115 + 10.34= $125.34

Gforce 2 maybe???

3.
Creative Labs, oem 3D Blaster ANNIHILATOR 2 Geforce2 DDR GTS Chipset , 4X AGP w/CD Nvidia GTS GeForce 2 2D/3D 32MB SGRAM 4X AGP DVD,350MHz 5.3g RAMD, 32bit resolution gamer choice(* NoTV-out) $ 199 $10+

total 209+ depends on shipping.
this one is a iffy, if I want to spend that much money.

currently I am leaning toward choice 1 or 2.

If I could only chose between those 3, I would chose the Elsa Geforce you have listed. I have a buddy that has a DDR model, mine is the ASUS Geforce w/ SGRAM, and his is the Asus w/ the DDR. We are both tweakers, and have done as much as you can w/ them, and he only get's, maybe at best, 15% more out of his than I do, and I paid almost half the cost. Course that was when they were $220, and $350 respectively, but now look at the price's, Oh well.

I hear the MX model's aren't too bad either, and are about the same cost as the Elsa. But only you can decide.

who makes Leadtek

I wanted to get some info on the GeForce DDR leadtek card that is listed for about 150 price, but there isn't a homepage listed for that card company.

Also on the ATI website tehy talk about being able to use Direct X 8 when it comes out, or is that all ready here...?

Also, looks maybe wrong but the leadtek cards looks cheap for some reason....

Ummm........ I hate to point out the obvious... but Leadtek has a url and it is up. And the Leadtek card is a reference designed card. No cheaper than an Annhialator or Gladiac.
