How's DX9?

I guess a lot of you gamers downloaded it when it came out. That being the case (and assuming you've been running it for a while), how is it?

I updated it yesterday and noticed no changes. However, I also upgraded my Nvidia driver and noticed with the new driver (that I got from www.nvidia.com) all of my colors were "off". I hated it. I rolled back to my previous driver. Anyone else have a similar problem?

well, I went from cat. 2.4 to cat. 3.0 and gained over 300pts in 3dmark. Intalled DirectX 9.0 and it went down 100pts. I noticed a nice inprovement from the 2.4 to the 3.0. I also downloaded some demos that use DirectX 9.0 and they're sweet. Happy with it!

Do you mean pre-windows98FE? Or win98SE?

Got my highest 3dmark score on dx9 and dx9 drivers from nvid. They made dx7 games look bad though, so out they came. Tribes2(dx8) played smooth but tribes1(dx7) looked crap.

Are you meaning that as in it is not too backward compatible?

That would be a drag, as I have a lot of old games that I don't want to loose...

I have it installed on winSE. No probs, but I didn't notice any changes, either. I have a GF4 Ti-4200. I don't think it supports DX9, anyway.

I haven't seen any backwards compatibility issues on my machine. Hey Blakhart, what O/S are you running?

it doesn't have native suppourt like the 9700 or future fx but it should still improve it... (although it didn't for mine)
