Video card supporting directx 9
I'm looking at buying a new vid card, and I'm leaning toward the Ti 4200.
I have a question. Does the fact that it doesn't support DirectX 9 (only 8, 8.1, etc) count as a major point against it? What I'm saying is, does it really matter? Here's what I'm thinking of getting, btw: http://www.sybercom.com/cgi-bin/sybe...d-4200a18.html |

Not till there are DX9 games.
When that happens you will loose some video features but the games will still run. Last edited by pam123; 01-29-2003 at 02:36 AM. |

What does everyone think of this card? Heard anything particularly bad or good about it? I just wanted to hear from everyone before I bought it...

When DirectX 9 games are released, the GeForce4 Ti cards will essentially be turned into GeForce4 MXes.

alienware, i hope that doesn't happen for a long time...MX's are castrated versions of geforces.
Anyone else got an opinion? |

That's what I mean; G4MXes don't fully support DX8, and when DX9 comes out, the G4Ti's won't support that.
