I'm running Windows XP Pro with an nVidia Gforce 2 Pro/Gts 64meg DDR Video Card. I play this online racing simulation game called "Motor City Online".
Until recently I was able to run the game flawlessly with max graphical settings, including my anti-aliasing set to 4x. I tried using different drivers and each would work until I rebooted my computer, and then the speeds would drop again. In order to be able to play I had to reduce my anti-aliasing to "none" but I can't stand the jagged edges. So I ran windows update and downloaded the windows certified nVidia driver and I have to admit that it runs alot faster than anything I've ran to date. However, there are no setting for anti-aliasing. I was normally able to set my anti-aliasing by going to Properties|Settings|Advanced|nVidia. but with this windows driver, its like there is no openGL settings. Does anyone know how I can set anti-aliasing under these circumstances? Can I download an OpenGL editor or something? Thanx, jalbes |

Hi jalbes,
Why don't you just go back to using the original drivers that worked best with your system. I hardly ever change my graphics drivers if they are working well with all my games. Usually I update them about once a year when I do a fresh Windows install or get a new graphics card. Different driver revisions work worse or better on different systems. It's just finding the best ones for your own system. In fact, I'm still using the 30.82 drivers with my Geoforce 2 MX 64Mb and all my games look pretty good. But then I only change when I "have" to. mike breck:
I didn't just change drivers for the heck of it. A new patch came out for the game (which I have to download and use in order to play online) and since theupgrade, the driver that was working fine suddenly couldn't handle anti-aliasing. So then I tried different drivers, and they would all work fine untill I either restarted my pc or they would just eventually crap out on me over time. So then I downloaded the Windows XP certified nVidia driver from the Microsoft website and it runs fast, but there is no anti-aliasing options. Thanx anyway. jalbes Cruelcamper: I'll try that rivatuner program that you mentioned, thanx. |

If you don't have the options in their usual places, you might not even have a opengl api installed.
