I can't get my video card to work with Diablo 2.
The vidoe card is a Diamond Stealth II s540,w/32 Megs ram. I installed a Tyan Trinity 400 mobo with a Celeron processor and I am using win 98. I also have a Diamond Monstersound card and a Diamond modem. I had already installed Diablo and had it running with the other video card, but when I installed the new video card and ran the video test it said something like "video mode not detected." I checked for the presence of the drivers in the device manager? OK, correct version? OK, conflicts? None. Also, I have an old Canopus 3d accelerator with 4 or 6 megs of Ram. I was wondering about the effects of running the Diamond out through there to get 3D. Then the program might detect the 3D video mode. Any help would be appreciated, hobo827 |

When I first installed Diablo 2 ,I had similar problem's, either strange video, or none at all. You should try updating the video driver's first, that's all I did, and all was well.
Check here: http://www.s3.com/default.asp?menu=support for your card, under graphic's section. Read B4 you use, to make sure they are for your card. The other thing is to go to Blizzards site, and look around, some other's may be having the problem too, or they may be aware of the particular problem, and have a work around for it. HTH, and good luck. |
