dual monitor (different monitors)
i have just bought a new mobo,
i am still useing my old video card witch is a geforce 2 400mx (daytona althou i do not think the actual manufacturer matters) i have the latest detonator drivers from the nvidia website. i used to have a dual monitor setup, the main monitor is a 19 inch, pretty modern and gives me no problems, the second monitr is a fairly old monitor (mag) . the wont engage. when i enable the second monitor it switches back off, i tryed to force detect the second monitor, but i won't work. is there annything i can do??????? ps. there is also a overlay problem, see post http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=55379 they might be related althou i doubt it Last edited by corosus; 02-06-2003 at 08:09 AM. |

Hi,
Just doublechecking, you are using the same resolution and refresh rate on that monitor that doesn't work than before, right? Also, are you using the same drivers? What version of Direct X do you have, same as before as well? If there were any chipset drivers for your motherboard, did you install those? Lastly, also doublecheck in the bios for any settings pertaining to video, and make sure they are set right. Let me know what you can come up with and HTH. |

no, i am not using the same frequency and resolution, the older one can not handle that, it used to work, but i had to do a reinstall of windows, i seem to recall( and i might be wrong with this) that what i need to do is change the frequency of the seond monitor, but i can not figure out where i need to do that.

for future refference, i foound the sollution,
apperantly the best thing to do is not download the "detonator" driver but download the nvidia driverpack, there there is a driver that sopports twinview, this enable's you to set different monitors |
