Hello,
I'm not very knowledgeable in PC gaming area so there are some questions I would like to ask.... 1.What processes should I turn off before playing a game? 2.How do you know how many FPS you're getting? 3.How do you upgrade drivers for onboard GPU? 4.How many buttons is enough on a gamepad? that's it for now i'm sure i'll ask more

1. I never turn off anything.
2. That depends on the game. Some games need a cheat to display this. 3. You must go to the mobo's mfgrs web site. 4. I hate gamepads, so I can't answer this question. What kind of games are you gonna play?

If my game lags, I usually turn off my AV and firewall progs. (That is, only in SP mode)
As for a gamepad, it depends on the game. You'll need a smaller amount of buttons if you're playing a racing game, but you'll ned more for a 1st person shoot-'em-up. Personally, I don't care for gamepads. I like using either a joystick and a keyboard (for flying games) or a keyboard and mouse for my shoot-'em-ups. That way I have access to all of my options

The mobo, since your video is integrated.
However I think that you can also find drivers in the nVidia web site. www.nvidia.com |

Just unzip it if you need to, then run setup.exe and it'll tell you what to do.

ok I'm not sure I did it right,I extracted the files to the C:WINNT directory,a window appeared saying a nvdia driver is already detected click yes to continue unsitalling these drivers, click no to exit so I could unistall these drivers,I clicked yes and the setup is installing,I click to restart now, when I came back to desktop, screen is in 16bit mode and 800x600,right clicked changed those two to 32bit 1024x768
did I do it right? |

37C for an XP?? Wow, that's pretty cold.
When you downloaded the drivers from nvidia.com, did u get the nforce drivers? If not get them here: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=nforce_udp_winxp_2.03 Uninstall the drivers currently installed first. |

Ah 2k, xp, same thing. Usually the same driver package for both. I guess nforce is different. Anyway, the ones online should be a lot newer. I would give them a shot.

Yup, that is the newest version. You won't find the 8.1 anymore, at least at M$ site.
I'd run first the PC with the old one to see if it runs fine. If you are still having problems then download and install the 9 version. I'm giving this advice because AFAIK you cannot uninstall DX. |

The nForce drivers include everything from USB drivers to sound, to gfx. I would uninstall any nvidia drivers (detonators and previous nForce drivers) before installing them. And that's it. I wouldn't install any additional display drivers (detonators)

umm,Renegade,
when I installed the nForce drivers,I didn't un-installed anything, just double clicked the icon and the setup went on... here are somethings that changed(noticeably) --nForce APU is no longer in the tray next to clock, now a nForce tray options(Soundstorm) is there --I think my version of Asus probe changed also |
