Flight Sim?
Can anyone recommend a modern combat flight sim(jets)? I want it to be recent, as I am now so used to IL-2 Sturmovik's graphics that I couldn't possibly go back three years. Thanks!

Yep, I'm waiting with bated breath for LO: MAC to be released but, oh, the waiting! Also, I have Falcon 4.0, but it runs sluggishly on my 2.26GHz P4/GeForce4 Ti4600 rig, and I can't get the resolution past 800x600. Anyone have any ideas?

Get Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3!!! Its such a good game, look at the screenies if you are unsure abotu the graphics, but I feel that they are really good!
Wow..how can Falcon 4.0 run slugishly on anyone your pc? How would it run on my brothers P3....haah that would be funny to watch! Well, HTH http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/ |

I don't think I'll be able to ever play another CFS game after having played IL-2; the game is to fantastic for words!

Falcon 4.0 runs very smooth on my kids PIII, GeForce2 64mb computer. I think at a higher resolution also. I installed it and I usually run things as high as I can. SO I would have at least chosen 1024x768.

Strangely, I can't choose a resolution higher then 800x600, even when I do the workaround in the Readme; does the patch address this problem, Tuf?

Hmm a good modern combat flight sim... I'm at a loss, have yet to play a GOOD modern combat sim that is realistic, well maybe Janes F/A-18.
That Lo: Mac does look cool but dang don't wanna fly just Migs or Su's! I want a US fighter like a F-16, F-22(should be in service soon), or an F/A-18.... "But they have an F-15" Too old for my taste sorry

It has been well over a year since I installed it, I don't recall having to patch it. But I usually do look at any software makers site for files before I install anything.
I really don't think my girls ever play it. My wife's son does when he is visiting and it's one of the few games he hasn't managed to tire of or have some sort of problem with. For the life of me I can't remember the name of it but I'll have to look, But I bought him a Helicopter game that is pretty cool. You can pick different theaters of operation. The action is pretty intense and not unrealistic. Most of these types of games I have seen either have you flying doing nothing for an hour or put you in situations your aircraft could never possibly deal with. |

I have Janes F/A-18, but it's really graphically glitchy, almost un-playable. Tuf, is the game Comanche4?

I went in at looked at their computer, it's called Gunship. The folder for it is only about 200mb so it may not be as cool as I remember. They should still have the box and manuals and I'll ask them in the morning.
