Help! Video card problems!
I'm running Windows 2000 Professional and just got an MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-TD8700. No matter what I do, at the end of driver installation I just get "Parameters are incorrect." and the drivers aren't recognized by the computer. I've tried both drivers from Guru3D and on the driver CD.
I uninstalled the first drivers, rebooted, ran a program to clean any leftovers, installed the new ones, and got the "Parameters are incorrect." error. I'm very anxious to try out my new card but I can't get the damn drivers to work. |

Welcome to the PCMECH Forums Xanieth,
Have you tried installing the drivers in Safe Mode? |

You know, I probably should have thought of that. And thanks for the welcome!

Try and disable your virus checker first....
Also i would uninstall the video card in the device manager and reboot then down load the latest drivers from nvidia and install them. edge345 |

Wow i was just checking around and people are having lots ot trouble with version 1 of the video card and this is only the fist site theres more.
http://www.resellerratings.com/forum/t33809.html If you have a via chipset try to install the newer 4in1 drivers. http://www.viaarena.com/ You may need a motherboard bios upgrade. Hope this helps you out. edge345 |

This is extremely frustrating.. I've installed the new Hyperions for my VIA P4X-266, tried all the 40.xx drivers and some 30.xx, and I'm still getting that damn error.

I don't know, but I think installing NT drivers might do the trick. I'm running Windows 2000 and the Windows directory is C:\WinNT. Do you think that would work?

That would suck if he were..
There is no onboard video, so I don't have anything to disable. The NT drivers don't work either and I'm about to attempt reformatting and reinstalling Windows 2000. Update: No need for more responses, I fixed it. Last edited by Xanieth; 02-13-2003 at 08:07 PM. |
