Cool VGA to TV Questions

I am using a 3rd PC in my den as my Mp3 Server. I want to use my TV as the monitor to see and run my mp3 player and select the mp3’s.

Currently I am running a cheap 8 mg Trident graphics card which has TV out. The problem is that once I select TV as the setting, and I shut the PC down it doesn’t hold the setting and jumps back to VGA setting, making the whole purpose useless. The goal is to eliminate the monitor from my den. However, before I purchase another graphics card, I wanted some feedback from the forum.

First, does anyone make a graphics card that will hold the TV setting as default? Venders have told me that there is no such animal-I find this hard to believe!!

Second, I have also been told that I could set up the card to read as I dual monitor and sort of trick the setting to hold the TV as one of the monitor settings. If this is so, does anyone know how to do this?

My last resort is the$75-110 converter boxes that are out there.

Which do you suggest? Anybody!!

Thanks G

My radeon 7500 does not require a monitor to be present at all. Once the TV is connected it just operates as an ordinary monitor. And I dont have to change any settings.
