Deus Ex GOTY Install Problem
I've been trying to install Deus Ex GOTY that came bundled with my Audigy Gamer, and I've run into a problem: it's nearly finished installing when it tries to "decompress system files", and it freezes there. If I end the process 'SystemFiles.exe', it continues and finishes the installation, but it won't run. My system is:
Windows XP Home P4 2.26GHz 1024MB PC-800 Gainward Ti 4600 Audigy Gamer DX 8.1 Any ideas? Thanks! |

This is a complete stab in the dark, but how much room do you have left on your HDD? If it's not much that might cause the problem. Otherwise you could try ending any extra programs running in the background and trying again. I know, longshots both.

I have plenty of space(40GB), and there is nothing else running. Thanks anyway, but I fixed it! I got it to install by copying all the files from the CD to my HDD, and running Setup from there. Bang! It installed fine, and I've spent most of tonight playing it. Great game, but I wonder why it wouldn't install from the CD?
