Unhappy Links 2003 lockup

I installed Microsoft Links 2003 and the install went fine. I was able to create a golfer with no problems and even managed to play the first hole OK. The graphics are fantastic (I love golf games). But while the second hole is rendering it locks up every time. I have reinstalled it three times. I even wiped my hard drive and started from scratch (it was time anyway) and then installed the game. It still locks up during rendering of the second hole.

Any ideas?

Here's my equipment

Have you checked for patches or updates for the game on the manufacturer's website. Patches usually fix those types of glitches. If those don't work try emailing Microsoft's game support for help. They may have a work-around. Finally, try to find a gaming forum for Microsoft games. Check if other people have had the same problem, and how they fixed it. HTH

mmore info...

...apparently only some courses don't work. The Cambrian course locks up but Kauri course seems to work (I only played six holes so far). I have yet to try a third course. Could the course (.CRZ) file have been corrupted or do they do something like a CRC check on each file during install. If the file is corrupt it must be on the CD because I have installed and reinstalled it anumber of times.

I know you said you have the latest drivers, but I had this come up a few weeks ago with a client. New Video card drivers solved the problem.
