ok umm why doesn't it show cpu tests or fill tests and rag troll etc? Those are standard tests for the number... how could they even get a number if they didn't run those tests? and it says they have a 4.245 ghz p4.. If thats anyone, I'm guessing its the people who did the iceman cometh thing...

nVidia is complaining about it too. I think they are po'd about their scores with their new card. They say it doesn't use codes that are used in the real world of gaming.

"Futuremark, the developer of the software in question, has responded to NVIDIA's harsh attack on its benchmark. In a PDF document published on its website, Futuremark addresses NVIDIA's accusations and explains its own view of the situation in a kind of rebuttal. Lastly, ATi has also issued an official statement on the topic, clarifying its own position on 3DMark 2003. "

You can find the aticle at tomshardware.com just search "3dMark 03".

yeah, the article said that 3dmark 2003 is kind of like a preview to how well your system will run a direct x 9 game and that 3mark2002 is for dx8. since some cards dont' have dx9 support, they all get low scores.

Suitcase, not the thread for posting your score. Post it here:
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=55925

btw, that score seems very low for your system. Not sure what's going on.

Wow.. 6865, that kicks butt!! shows ya what the overclocked 3ghz P4 can help do. That test made my system crawl at 5fps at times *sigh*... Not even 3months old yet and already needs upgrading...lol

oh yea, i ran it again, i only ran it the day it came out, all those weks ago, i forgot,

anyway, pitiful 1500

may be a lower score, but my PC still kicks arse on every game, i can just max the settings and be on my way

I wouldnt get a 9700 just to make the score go up, i dont need to, and by the time I really do need a newer graphics card, the 9700 will be just as out of date as my Ti4200

i think 3dmark03 is an utter POS really, seems to be totally irregular between systems of the exact same spec

All dx8 cards do badly. The scores will go up in time. Is it not this bad running 2001se on a dx7 card? I dont remember but not a very good indicator of how your computer plays games in general.. that seems to be what ppl want. More how it may perform in dx9... not half bad for that, then again.... no game engines. An OC'd GF4 ti4600 would get better frame rates than a stock 9500pro, but in 3dmark 2003, no dx9 make the gf4 score very badly because of emulation and such.
