I've noticed that both newegg, mwave, and googlegear have no cards with 9700 pro chipset availible. Is there something happening that i don'd know about? I am going to have to get a card soon.

Um, I don't think you looked hard enough:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...alue=3048,3668 That's 7 different Radeon 9700 pro cards at newegg. 1 is in stock. And googlegear also has the same one in stock: http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=320674 These are the All in Wonder cards though, so they are the most expensive. Not sure if that is what you want.

The 9700 cards are a hot item and hard to keep in stock.

Everyone wants one and it's going to get worse in a few more weeks when the 9800 comes out and the price for the 9700/9500pro drops.
ATI is now starting the campaign for their new card. See here:http://www.ati.com/ |

At Rage3D they're talking about it for March 3rd.
ATI is not planning on losing any time. The fact that NVidia to a prat fall hasn't changed their timing. |

are those just rumours or a statement of fact? I hope its real
The fact of the matter is that I want to get a build in for March break, and I want to get the card off a reputable dealer. It is evil that this is happening, but thats life.

I can't get to rage3d to post the thread link for you just now.
Whatever it is will probably clear up later so I'll be trying again. |

If you look at the custom builders on line, most are offering the 9700 pro so I'll bet they bought up a bunch. When I bought mine (at best buy) several months ago they had alot of them and so did most of the online stores.
