i was thinkin of the ATI 9100, ATI 9500, or Geforce 4 Ti4200 AGP 8X. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |

Personally I would get a Pro if anything. Even better, a Radeon 9700 for $242 at newegg.com.

Hercules and Gainward are ok. If you can afford it the best of them will always be the retail ATI-made cards, though.
For gaming performance along with "extras" and the performance of all of the said extras, the All In Wonder 9700 Pro is about the best consumer-level video card ever made in my opinion. |

id say the 9500, it you want to do the software or hardware mod, if not go with the 9500 pro if you cant go higher.

i have always thought the best ATis were the crucial ones, as they have crucial memory on them

Go with a Drirect X 9.0 card. Go Radeon 9500 or 9700. Anything else will be totally obsolete by summer.

Does the Radeon 9000 support DX and AGP8x?

NK,
The 9000 is a DX8 card and it is 4X. I think ATI was paying a little too much attention to what NVidia did with the GeForce 4 MX. NVidia's move was dishonest and should not have been copied. |
