moh:aa problem after patch

i install and the game plays fine. once i install the patch the game will not start. if i install spearhead it will install the patch but spearhead will run fine.
basically what it does if i click on the icon the lil hour glass shows for a second and then stops but the game never starts.

Try removing both games altogether and then making sure both folders within the EA GAMES folder are removed. Then, actually delete the EA GAMES folder. Do a fresh install of MOH:AA and run the game. Then, install the earliest patch (1.10) - run the game. Then, install the latest patch, 1.11 - run the game. Should work fine after that. Then, proceed with your Spearhead install and then doublecheck your Allied Assault installation when finished to check for proper function...

Go CTRL-ALT-DEL and get into Task Manager.

In there, see if there is a MOHAA.exe running already, this could be your problem (if the game doesn't shut down properly or wasn't shut down properly before you patched then you won't be able to open it up again)

This happened to me when i got the patch when i used to play it. I could get into the game but then id try multiplayer and it would freeze everytime. So now im playing day of defeat which is much better.

Ya yur right, but if you can find a good server with good admins there is no problem. Plus it is playable with 56k which is what i like about it.
