Hi, I'm running WinXP pro on a MSI K7N2 (NVIDIA nForce2 chipset) with an AthlonXP 2100 processor and 32bit sound card.
I'm trying to get my old MS Sidewinder Forcefeedback pro 'stick to work. But when I try to add it, I get a "Gameport drivers not properly configured" error. When I go to the Device Manager, and click on the Properties for the Game Controler, I get a "This device cannot find enough free resources (Code 12)" error, and it tells me that the assigned I/O address (201) is conflicted (shouldn't this also be a range - 200-207 instead of a single address?)- but I can't change the setting - the change settings option is grayed out. I've also disabled a few non-essential resources in the Dev. Manager as well, but nothing changes. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help/advice! |

Welcome to PC Mech Zasheetnik!
Make sure the gameport is enabled in the BIOS. Also. If you are not using any Serial Ports or COM ports, you can remove or disable them in Device Manager and in the BIOS. This will clear up some IRQ's for the gamport to use. Also. I would re-arrange your PCI cards. That way you will get better IRQ assignments. Make sure you have APIC enabled with your motherboard, if your motherboard supports it. |
