...all of you fellow gamers enjoy multiplayer!
I have always been a die hard single player gamer. Mostly because my dial-up connection don't allow me to play online. But now that I got broadband I decided to give Red Faction a try at multiplayer. It's a blast! Oh My! I had so much fun! A friend came in when I was playing and we both laughed heartily everytime I fragged or get fragged. As a matter of fact I was spending most of my time dead, but an hour later I was improving and I even manage to get the most frags in one of the levels. Ahh, tomorow I'll do it again. This is fun indeed! I'm hooked!

People tend to have better AI than bots.
Plus, they say funnier things when they lose. ;) The way things are going, it is harder to enjoy just the single player aspects of a game. Especially since FPS's are the main sellers and easily lend themselves to multiplay. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

What do you think of multiplayer in RPGs? I'm not talking about those pay per month MMORPGs, but the multiplay features in some RPGs like Neverwinter Nights.

I sort of know what you mean, Nuke. Although I am shackled with dial-up, I have a home LAN that I use to frag with my brothers, and it is a blast!

There's nothing better than online gaming (except certain things I cannot mention here). Glad you decided to take the plunge and get broadband my friend...

I have dial up. But, I used to play Sega Dreamcast online all the time with dial up and it was a blast.

rpg, is boring as h311 in the beginning because you start as the lowest level and you have to struggle your way up while everyone else is at least level 40....arg

Try Serious Sam I or II cooperative for a real blast.
RTCW and MOH are also good- but getting a little old now. I used to play RPG's, mostly Diablo II- it was fun, not sure why I stopped playing. |

I tried Everquest in November 2002 and felt so alone in a massive universe. It seems that the game has been around for so long that groups/clans have formed and its almost impossible to blend/join . Was a tad expensive too at 20$ a month/Can.
Im getting C&C Generals this weekend and was wondering how it is online?

Not a problem. I had put a deposit on Phantasy Star Online for Xboxlive but got fed up with the wait so I ll use my deposit towards C&C and maybe also get Praetorians. It looks like a very interesting game. Im downloading the demo right now to check it out.

Give it six months and you'll grow tired of public games, and want to play competitively.
Then the single biggest question you'll ask when any new games come out are "where are the good private servers and pickup games at"?

I hear you, I am already growing tired of public games mostly because of modders and cheaters.

Must be pretty bad if you're annoyed about modders and cheaters after less than a week
I had to give up online gaming as it was eating up far too much of my time! Jim |
