how to add mods in UT2003?

i got bored today and decided that i wanted some mods and mutators etc for UT2003, to spice it up a bit.. i have downloaded like 20, but for the life of me, i cant figure out how to apply them, does anyone know what to do, where to put them etc??

Most of the mods in the uT world are what they call, UMOD. Which means, all you have to do is double click them and they install themselves into the proper folder(s). If you have to manually install them, I think UT2003 isn't much different than what UT was. All Maps go into the folder called Maps. Texture files go into the folder called Textures, etc etc. Below is a breakdown:

File extensions and where they go:

.utx goes to Texture folder
.umx goes to Music folder
.uax goes to Sound folder
.u & .int goes into System folder
.map into map folder

Maps generally will look like a little UT logo from what I remember. I am such a fan of these games, yet it has been so long since I installed a mod for it/them. Hope this gives you some idea.

yea, i found something today that says the exact same thing,
thanks anyway, it got me pretty confused did that umod thing, i had to download a umod extractor, then the mod still didnt work

i got the epic bonus pack today aswell, 175MB!!! must be impressive! and i got the official DE Maps pack aswell, Ill have fun tonight and tomorrow (day off, yes!)

Glad you got it all worked out!

I am still a bigger fan of the original UT which had some killer mods as well... if you still play UT, look for a mod called AgentX - changes all the weapons to modern day weapons. Pretty darn cool...
