i also heard 2005, which means look forward to about 2006

they arent likely to rush something 16 times as powerful as a PS2 for a deadline

i've read articles that it's in 2005 as well. i don't think they could release something that isn't anywhere near ready yet. it's sony, not microsoft.

gameplay is the same from a computer or a console... graphics are far better with a comp.. and the price.. computer games are free and you pay 80$ for a single game on a console? is it fun to browse the internet with a console? write word documents? I don't think so... I would like to see the day consoles will do everything a computer can do.. eh!

That's a wee bit exaggerated. When I used to play computer games they were always in the $45 - $55 range. Games for the PS2 are running around $40-$50 where I live. I don't see much difference in price there. Plus, even when the newest console system first comes out, it's still less than half the price of a new PC.
Yeah, the graphics may be a little better on the computer, but the PS2 has plenty of clear and flashy graphics for me (and I'm pretty picky when it comes to that). And with a console you don't have to bother with all the setup (what drivers, which version of DirectX, how much memory, is my processor too slow?). Just drop the disk in and start playing.

yea that is one point every console has the same hardware so games can use their full potential. for the 80$ , it's in canadian dollars, so a 50$ US game is actually 80 here. and about games, I know we must not talk about this in this forum, but you know, you can find ANYTHING on the net ... heh. (I don't say it's good, but if a game is really good, I go and buy it) but anyway. yea the base price is higher for a computer, but you can do alot more things with it. thats why I prefer that.. anyway it's a personnal choice there is no one better than another let's not start a war here lol

Dim3x

and the drivers and directx thing.. I love to configure my comp and all these things so when it crashes i'm frustrated and im proud when I can repair it by miyself lol

Dim3x > My apologies on the $80 remark. I didn't know you meant Canadian dollars (your location says Trash Can ).

Which have more titles available, a single console or a PC?

I like a PC for gaming because you can add mods to the games and the hardware.

bah, for the people like me who like to configure his comp like he wants and always get the best from their rigs, computer games will probably fit them best. For those who wants to play and just play, then console his for them only a matter of opinion and the way you want it thats it hehe

dim3x

force_flow2002: you're right on this one, mods and hardware modding is a real part that makes it more fun and amusing in the computer world. you could still mod your PS2 but.. like I said you *could*

You've got to remember, at one time, they were the best of the best. Some people still like playing them.
