I tried to open Return to Castle Wolfenstein today, and it would not run. I got the following message:

What operating system are you on? I cant recall right off the top of my head, but I remember someone mentioning something about certain operating systems would cause conflicts when trying to open DOS based applications. Ill do some looking around and see if I can find that article or post again.

I am using Windows XP Professional. I upgraded my drivers to the 30.82s from NVIDIA. I still get the same message. What do I need to overcome this OpenGL issue? The only change since the last time I played this game is upgrading from Windows98 to XP. TIA

This is a fairly common problem:
Go into folder /Return to castle wolfenstein/gl/ Delete/Rename the two .dll files (Openglv5.dll, Openglv3.dll). --- For Win9x,Me ! Copy from \Windows\System\opengl32.dll --- For WinXP,2k ! Copy from \Windows\System32\opengl32.dll |
