Wow, I hope it is true! I've been waiting for a JKIII to come out ever since I finished JKII!

Thanks for the links! I *really* hope that it isn't a joke, and that JKIII is really coming out. I'm a huge Star Wars fanatic, and I need my Jedi Knight fix. I've beaten JKII 6 times, I need a new Star Wars game!

Wow, Im struggling through it the first time. I mean, Im a huge fan and all, but it doesn't compare to the first dark forces and the mezmorizing emotions I felt at that time for star wars.

I hope the new JK (which WILL come out, alienware... be patient!) will have better texturing and not have to use OpenGL to do it.

After viewing those screens i am a bit skeptical because of the dimmness. You guys know from the past that the darker the images, the faker they tend to be. A first screen wil be vivid to show texture, aliasing and color. A faker will like to avoid having to make these features stand out.

Ditto, AWD!

I hope I don't see an April Fools announcement tomorrow...

Tell me about it. The first Dark Forces freaked me out. You had those incomplete Dark Troopers that looked like the first Terminator at the end and the complete Dark Troopers were even worse. Then you had that sewer level with the things just popping out of the water.

I even liked the second Dark Forces (ie Jedi Knight I) better than the second JK. Not that I did not like JKII, I just thought they could have done more with the story as in the first. At least let you feel like you had a choice.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

Demosthenes, I totally agree with you! The sewer level was the most exciting event in all of 3D gaming at the time. The sound in that game was thrilling. When the sewer monsters popped up and their shrill cries echoed through the sewer, there was nothing better.

That's what I'm thinking too.

I've been looking for hoax announcements saying "Ha-ha! Fooled you all!", but I haven't seen any.

yea. well we should all know that is very likely to come out, right? its just that those screen shots were kind of 'fishy' if you ask me. I dunno, maybe im just a bit cynical about games until they finally arrive!

Is there no official press release from Raven Software?
It seems that if a game is about half way done, they would say something.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

Maybe it was leaked and Raven doesn't want to say anything officially yet...

the problem is that the release charts are always wrong. its not that they don't update them its just that they flat out lie sometimes.

ya, goto force_flow's link. it shows that it will be called jedi academy and you won't be able to be kyle katarn. i saw the link earlier but didn't post it and it has much better screenshots on it of the game, but i still didn't see and two-fisted lightsaber pics. ah whatever, this game looks like it'll rock!

uh, did you read what i said up there?? an OFFICIAL release isn't always true. its better to just wait it out not knowing then to be dissappointed by a month long delay (yes, usually delays are measured in months)...

Excellent news indeed. I loved JKII so much. Being able to light saber fight side by side with Luke Skywalker was definetly a defining moment in gaming for me. I can't wait.
