I love half life...i think its one of the best FPS games ever...but lately, i cant play it because of some weird things that are happening with the colors and stuff. sometimes, it will flash, as if someone is taking a picture then some of the walls will be transparent, then the screen will shutter, and it will be back to normal, only to do it again a few secods later. and sometimes weird things happen with the sky, you'll see in the pictures, it is like a repeat of the last little bit of the wall..i dont know what to call it.
I dont know when it started exactly, but it is making me verrry mad. mobo - gigabyte ga-7vrxp vid. card. - mx 440 (havent had problems before this) and i have latest drivers windows xp pro thanks example ~ |

The second one is a commonly called the "Hall of Mirrors"
The first one is just kinda cool. ;) Really helps in multiplay to see through walls. Anyway, are you using DirectX or OpenGL? Might a driver update have caused it? Might a DX update have caused it? Try switching between APIs to see if it makes a difference. The problem is in the rendering, it should not be an actual hardware problem. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Since your memory is sufficient, try Demosthenes's method. I would try updating the DirectX drivers if you don't have 8 or better. And if it is an OpenGL problem just check their website for the latest.

Scott_d, same thing happened to me on my mx 440 (Detonator 41.09) with DX9, both under Win2K Pro and XP Pro. Works perfectly with software rendering or OpenGL though. Right now I've got Detonator 43.45 and DX9 and it's still happening.
BTW, what HL update are you running? 1.1.10? |

I'm using openGL i think, and HL version 1.1.10. The crazyness stopped after i updated the drivers for my mx 440. works great now.
